Theme of the Exhibition
“Languages of Time in Design for a Better Life” not only explains the creative process of the designer, but more importantly shows how design, in a cyclical way, anticipates change by engaging in improving quality of life and reducing inequality.
Design, as a vehicle for transformation, is an approach that goes beyond aesthetics and functionality. It is a strategic discipline that combines creativity and problem solving to generate large-scale positive impacts. There are numerous areas where design plays a crucial role as an agent of change: social innovation, environmental sustainability, economic transformation, technology and digitization, as well as spaces and communities. Therefore, working in synergy with other disciplines, design has the potential to lead humanity toward a more sustainable, equitable and innovative future. The Languages of Time are points of view that, through an evolutionary process, are transformed into strategic Visions, within which different types of Capsule/Edits take shape. An ever-evolving spiral that, with each cycle, generates a new language. The exhibition “The Languages of Time in Design for a Better Life” illustrates and explains, through 8 cycles, how design has been and continues to be able to decode, interpret and anticipate not only current needs, but also future desires and needs.
Objectives of the Exhibition
Design is a powerful vehicle for change: it weaves together creativity, innovation and strategy to address social, environmental and economic challenges. Its ability to influence the way we think, live and interact with the world makes it a key tool for driving positive transformations. Design as a vehicle for change is an approach that transcends aesthetics and functionality: it links creativity and problem-solving skills to generate large-scale positive impacts. Working in synergy with other disciplines, it can guide humanity toward a more sustainable, equitable and innovative future. Inequalities-social, economic, cultural or environmental-are among the most pressing challenges of our time. Design can act as a transformative force to reduce these inequalities and contribute to a better life for all. Through innovative and inclusive solutions, it can promote equality, justice and well-being.
In summary, the concept of “Languages of Time” represents a fundamental element of Marco Poletti’s design philosophy. A unique and original idea that explores the different dimensions of time within the creative and making process. The exhibition represents its concrete response.

Curatorial Statement – Architect and designer Marco Poletti
“My journey as a Designer and Architect began in 1995, when I made my first collections for Italian companies. What started as a passion soon became a profession: not only designing, but sensing before others the right direction, building strategies with a team, and sharing a life-long journey. But it has always been much more than that.
I realized that design has always been a powerful engine of change. A discipline that, working in synergy with others, has the potential to lead humanity toward a more sustainable, equitable and innovative future.
This exhibition is a tangible example of how Design can anticipate and foster change, leading us to a better life.
The idea of “anticipating the languages of time,” in Marco Poletti’s approach to design and architecture, expresses an innovative and forward-looking vision. This concept reflects the ability to recognize and interpret in advance emerging trends and developments in the design world.
In essence, for Marco Poletti, “anticipating the languages of the time” means a commitment to remain at the helm of design and architecture-able to grasp and address new challenges and opportunities as they emerge. It is an approach that requires openness to innovation and an ongoing search for ideas and solutions that not only anticipate the future, but help shape it.”
